‘It is in playing that the individual is able to be creative and to use the whole personality, and consequently the individual discovers the self. All creative acts are forms of play. Play is the taproot from which original art springs; it is the raw stuff that the artist channels and organises with all his learning and technique. Play is the free spirit of exploration, doing and being for its own pure joy.’
Nachmanovitch, 1990

Sally is inspired by and inspires playfulness. She has a colourful collection of interactive jewellery and interior products. Into which she incorporates games - ‘Rolling Balls’, ‘Join the Dots’ and ‘Draw On Me’. Alongside this she also has a pretty collection of non-interactive jewellery and card designs. Her visual language is simple and colourful, inspired by the beautiful countryside that surrounds her home in Somerset. She loves wooden toys, simple patterns and vintage plastics.

Exciting ideas are realised through developmental drawings by hand and computer. They are then transferred onto paper, fabric, acrylic sheet and aluminium using printing processes, laser cutting and etching. Wallpapers are manufactured in the UK using flexographic rollers, which give a smooth, detailed finish. The highest quality papers and inks are used to produce a wallpaper that will look fresh and bright for many years.

Jewellery pieces are handmade using traditional silversmithing and metalsmithing techniques. Modern technologies are also employed enabling Sally to produce the innovative designs that are making a bold statement in the field of contemporary jewellery. She wants jewellery to ‘be less serious’ creating pieces that are both beautiful and fun.

As a small design studio ‘sally pawson’ is able to provide quality, innovation and excellent customer service, she hopes her products will be a source of amusement, delight and inspiration.
